How to Make a Faux Fur Wreath for Christmas

Below are the instructions for this easy Christmas craft project. Keep this page open and follow along, referencing the video for tips. For a printable version to use for a family or girl’s craft night, scroll down.

First, secure the end of the ribbon in a diagonal along the inside of the wreath form. Use a sewing pin to secure the starting point.

Next, hold the pinned ribbon with one hand, loop the rest of the ribbon up and around the form and through the center.

Loop the ribbon over the far right edge of the previous layer, using pins to secure it in place. The fur will cover the pins with a quick brush of your hand on the fabric.

Repeat the above steps to cover the entire wreath form. Fluff up the fur, adjusting the layers to ensure you can’t see the edges.

Next, use a zip to secure the ornament to the pine sprig to make it easy to attach to the wreath.

Use a zip tie (or two joined together, depending on length) to secure the ornament and pine to the wreath form. Place it about 5 inches to the right of the center where you’ll add your ribbon.

Double up the 1.5 inch ribbon at the drop height you want the wreath. Bring the looped end from the back of the wreath up through the center. Open the loop, slide the ends through over the top of the wreath and pull tightly.

Tie a knot at the end and hang your handmade holiday wreath.

Notes

Depending on how heavy your decorations are, do not place them too low or far away from the hanger because it could make the wreath lopsided when hanging.
