Snowy Jars with Spray Adhesive
Here at Berry and Pine, I am not new to the snowy jar, snowy mason jar, snowy vase, etc… And over the years I’ve found the best “glue” to make these really come alive: spray adhesive.
Yes, the star of the show is a glue. While you can use ModPodge for this craft, I find that the spray adhesive allows for:
- two coats quickly (no waiting for the first coat to dry like ModPodge)
- it covers more completely
- more of the Epsom salt stays on the jar after drying and handling
If you love these but can’t get started right now, save or share this page to Facebook or Pinterest. Either way, it will make it easy to find when you’re ready to begin this fun and easy Christmas craft idea.

Materials Needed
Aside from the spray adhesive, go wild in your selections. Be sure to check your craft stash for items you can substitute.

- Spray Adhesive (my favorite brand)
- Epsom Salt (unscented) and a Small Plastic Container
- Dollar Tree Greenery
- Dollar Tree Baker’s Twine
How to Make Snowy Oui Jars
Below are the step by step instructions for this easy upcycle craft idea. Keep this page open and follow along or scroll down to print this.
First, clean and dry the glass jars completely.
Empty some Epsom salt into the container and break up any clumps. It’s best to work with individual grains.
Next, protect your work surface and spray the jar well. Roll it into the salt, slightly pressing it down.
Remove the jar, spray again, and press it into the salt once more. Two coats will ensure a full coating of “snow” for each jar. Repeat with the other jars and set aside to dry.
Wrap baker’s twine under the lip of the Oui jar and tie on a piece of greenery and berries.

Ways to Use These Recycled Jars
If you love to craft but don’t know what you’re going to do with them when you’re done (ahem…), here are a few ideas:
- fill with a small holiday pine sapling
- add an LED or flame candle
- tuck in some wrapped candies
