3D Felt Wrap Around Napkin Ring

Here at Berry and Pine, I’m working through some craft supplies and stumbled upon my tote full of felt. On the top were some holiday colors, so I whipped up a few DIY Christmas napkin rings.

This easy DIY will take only about 3 minutes to cut and assemble. Because of that, it makes for a perfect family craft night or girl’s craft night idea.

Materials You Will Need

This is one of the easiest DIY holiday crafts to put together and I bet you have what you need on hand already! You only need:

  • felt
  • scissors
  • pins or clips
  • chalk (optional)
  • free templates and printer

How to Make This Christmas Tree Felt Napkin Ring

First, download, print, and cut out the free felt napkin holder template. It will have this craft and two others you can create with simple felt.

Pin or clip the 3D wrap around template to the felt. Cut along the outer edge of the template.

Optional: use chalk to outline the printable if repeatedly using the template for multiple napkin holders.

Line up the paper template to the felt cutout and cut the two slits indicated on the pattern. Make sure you’re cut one from the top of the tree and the other from the bottom.

Roll up a napkin and place it on the napkin holder with the bottom cut tree on the left. Bring the top cut tree into the bottom slit, lining them up. Gently pull the trees so the tops and bottoms are aligned.

Instructions

  1. First, download, print, and cut out the free felt napkin holder template. It will have this craft and two others you can create with simple felt.
  2. Pin or clip the 3D wrap around template to the felt.
  3. Optional: use chalk to outline the printable if repeatedly using the template for multiple napkin holders. Cut along the inside edge of the chalk.
  4. Cut along the outer edge of the template if using the paper template as a guide without chalk.
  5. Line up the paper template to the felt cutout and cut the two slits indicated on the pattern. Make sure you're cut one from the top of the tree and the other from the bottom.
  6. Roll up a napkin and place it on the napkin holder with the bottom cut tree on the left. Bring the top cut tree into the bottom slit, lining them up. Gently pull the trees so the tops and bottoms are aligned.
