Dollar Tree Decoupage Christmas Coasters
This set of Dollar Tree decoupage Christmas coasters is a fun craft night DIY. It’s done in about 30 minutes with a heat gun to help dry everything faster.
You can also “dabble create” this project, coming back to it in between household chores, loads of laundry, or playing with the kids. If you make crafts to sell, this can be done in an assembly-line fashion, as well!

How to Make These Christmas Coasters
Below are the step by step instructions to make this holiday craft idea. Leave this page open and follow along or, if you’d like a printable version for a craft night, scroll down.
First, paint the bottom of the wood tiles with a coordinating color with one coat. We’re not trying to cover, only to tone the wood to match our designs. Let dry (or hurry it along with a heat gun).
Next, add a thin layer of ModPodge to the opposite, non-painted side using a foam brush. Let dry.
Place the decoupage image into the desired spot on the wood tile, cover with parchment, and then press for 20-25 seconds. Let cool and check for bubbles; if any bubbles are discovered, you can pierce the paper, add ModPodge (on a toothpick into the hole). Let dry and press again.
Once the images are dry, remove excess paper by sanding each edge. To add dimension and visual interest, I also roughed up the paper on the corners.
Clear any sanding debris and add ModPodge to cover the entire coaster. Let dry.
TIP: After applying ModPodge, use a clean, dry brush to even it out and remove any streaks.
Add four felt feet to the back of each coaster, placing at least 1/2 inch into the corner. Optional: clamp the feet to get the best adhesion.
